How to Make Guacamole (Step-by-Step)

Start by carefully slicing the avocado lengthways around the large stone.

Twist the avocado halves in opposite directions to reveal the flesh.

Remove the stone and use a small spoon to scoop around the edges of the avocado to remove the skin.

Cut the halves of avocado into chunks.

Repeat the same process for the second avocado, add the pieces to the bowl and mash with the back of fork.

You can use a potato masher if you prefer, I've gone for a slightly chunky guacamole.

Quarter a small/medium tomato and remove the seeds and jelly bits in the center.

Chop the tomato flesh into small pieces and add the bowl with the mashed avocado.

Halve the onion, cut off the stem end and cut strips lengthways using the root end to keep the onion held together.

Now slice strips across the onion to get nice even sized chopped pieces and add to the bowl.

Finely chop the coriander / cilantro and add the bowl.

Squeeze in the juice of 1 lime and season with a little salt.

Mix everything together, give it a taste and adjust the seasoning if required. Serve immediately or store covered in the fridge until ready to use.
